By any measure, the Cardinals’ 2023 season has been a major disappointment. They entered the season considered by many to be favorites in the NL Central, yet their winning percentage is hovering around .400 and Fangraphs Playoff Odds give them less than a 17% chance of reaching the postseason. But

They have to buy a pitcher. We have so much talent sitting on the bench because we can't put them anywhere. Goldy is the only player that is consistent on the team. Trade someone who is not an everyday player for a half decent pitcher. We obviously can't score runs so getting rid of our only decent batter will kill the team
