This is a brilliant way to get around spez's threats. The subreddit is open, the moderators are moderating, and any result of the poll is just the will of the community.

It did. The vote tally was a landslide in favour of John Oliver 55,000/ to -9,000 as of now. This is truly genius protesting, shit disturbing and sticking it to spez all in one

The idea that Spez et al would back down from the hypocrisy of saying "no not that way" and replacing the mods anyway is absurd.

But at least it will create some more stories about how awful the reddit admins are.
