Hubzilla or Akkoma?

2 years ago by Shirogane Ryu to c/fediverse

I'm thinking of setting up a fediverse node and my first choice was Akkoma but after seeing a bit of Hubzilla I thought about using it. It would be to install it on a raspberry, but I think it can be a bit heavy for that hardware. The question would be... Would you use Hubzilla or Akkoma on that hardware? I accept suggestions from other software

Having experience with running both, I would recommend GoToSocial instead 😅

Akkoma isn't too heavy, but the setup is a bit convoluted and there is almost no support what so ever if you run into problems.

Hubzilla has interesting features, but use as an AP fediverse instance is an afterthought at best. It kinda works, but if that is the part you are most interested in, I would not use Hubzilla for it.
