I think Legacy of Atlantis is actually a remake of the first Tomb Raider, so I think Crystal Dynamics wanted to be like "Don't worry guys, you're also getting a new one" at the same time.
I wonder how many re-makes of TR1 we’ll get in all. So far:
- TR1
- Tomb Raider Anniversary (same story, similar levels, new controls and engine)
- TR1 Remastered (original engine, new models and textures
- Legend of Atlantis (modified story? Otherwise all new)
Not tired of them yet, played them all so far and won’t stop now.

Wonder why they decided to announce both at the same time though. Seems like a bit of an odd choice.
