Vent posts are now required to be labeled and to avoid triggering content in the subject line

2 days ago by LadyAutumn to c/mtf

From now on a new rule is being implemented in this community requiring vent posts to be clearly indicated in the subject line. This just has to include the word "vent".

In addition, please avoid triggering content in the subject line of vent posts. It's okay to discuss triggering content in the body of a vent post, but we want to avoid exposing vulnerable members of our community to content that is capable of harming them.

For example the following are all acceptable,

  • [Vent] Dealing with unsupportive parents
  • Vent post, struggling with dysphoria
  • Venting about misgendering
  • Venting, thoughts of self harm
  • [Vent] suicidal thoughts

If you are asked to edit a post to fit this rule, it is not a personal attack against you. I just have to consider the well-being of everyone in this community. And triggering content warnings just arent enough when the subject lines themselves are triggering.

Any thoughts or input on this new rule can be shared here on this post.
