Let’s talk about boomer shooters. What are you looking for? What’s your top 3 list of attributes a boomer shooter MUST have and 1 thing that eliminates it from the classification? Do you look for LofFi sound tracks? Are voxel graphics allowed? Does everything have to be a sprite? Can you make a boomer shooter in Unreal engine 5? Is gore a requirement? What about grenades/thrown weapons?

Let us hear what you find important in your retroFPS.

Honestly, I'd say putting gameplay and interesting mechanics before graphical fidelity would be enough. I think that's what makes current boomer shooters so good. They might look old but their gameplay dynamics should be creative and avant garde.

"Boomer Shooters" are a sub-genre of first-person shooter (FPS) games, known for harking back to the fast-paced, adrenaline-fueled action of 1990s classics like DOOM, Quake, and Duke Nukem. They emphasize run-and-gun gameplay, maze-like level design, and an arsenal of diverse weapons. With little regard for realism, these games prioritize explosive action, non-linear exploration, and often feature fantastical, over-the-top enemies and environments.
