Error: VAC unable to verify your game session

In case you encounter a VAC verification issue.

Steam -> CSGO -> properties -> betas (chose the newest one "1.38.3.6 - 1.38.3.6") if no download happens, choose demo.
launch the game. Since I chose demo, I couldn't launch the game.
close the game
Steam -> CSGO -> properties -> betas (chose the actual patch "NONE") That works for me, hope it will work for you too! 🙂

I play csgo on Linux and get this once in awhile. Restarting steam tends to fix the issue.

I had the error on a brand new PC with a fresh install lol.

Can confirm, Steam restart unfucks the game.

Had that on Garuda, reboot, restarting steam, even booting into debian didn't fix it. (Debian with totally different user directory and everything)

Then about a week later I put in a ticket with valve, was told to open a ticket on their GitHub for Linux, and before I could do that, the issue magically resolved itself. Very strange.
