I watched a presentation from a big tech company in which the presenter talked how, while his wife was giving birth, he saw that as an opportunity and asked AI to build a "nursery design" site because he could use his daughter as a model. People were praising him for being forward thinking about providing to his family, I just couldn't imagine being this greedy.

I saw people from the same company eagerly discussing using AI to recreate dead relatives. It's disgusting how much these people are hypnotized by AI

It doesn't know anything, it just parroted a response that fits with what the user wrote. That's what LLMs do

I pay for games instead of pirating because I believe that the people that worked on a game deserve to be compensated for their work. If these people are using generative AI that was trained with images obtained without the consent of the creators (and right now it's very unlikely they are using ethically-trained generators), they are not paying the artists that helped create their images. Why should I pay for the game then?

Are they going to stop charging if they do that?

For me the line is the cost of the AI tool: if it requires running on a datacenter and training with massive amounts of data obtained without consent of the creators, it is too costly for memes.

Other applications might have extra criteria, for example, I've seen nature enthusiasts point out that "enhancing" photos of animals might modify the photo enough that the animal loses its defining features

I didn't vote, but what does this have to do with privacy? That's probably why people downvoted

Ithkuil wasn't made to be hard, but it was made to express "more profound levels of human cognition briefly yet overtly and clearly', and as a consequence became very hard

Your response contradicts what you said before. If you understand that an LLM doesn't know things, how is it interesting that it said that "it crossed the line"? Saying they crossed a line is a common response to being told they shouldn't do something, so it's natural that an LLM would respond that, no matter what it did before.

The scheduled tasks would appear in the Tasks app for me, yours might be there too

This doesn't solve the problem of making new reminders, but you can check if the previous ones are being tracked

But the artist was supposed to pay in some form to watch these animations because they are not in the public domain

Nice work! I've wanted to play with concurrency in Go for a while, but unfortunately I haven't had the free time for that. It's great to find a condensed explanation of the main concepts

You misread what I said. If a game creator is using an LLM that was trained with art obtained without consent, that is, the artists were not compensated for that use, why should I compensate that game creator? They don't value the works of others, so I won't value theirs either

It's an LLM. All it's supposed to do is generate output that fits with the given input. There isn't some logic in it that makes sending an email an error, or anything that enforces detecting any kind of error. You can wrap it in other tools for that, but there isn't any indication that's the case.

More than that, the initial post says the user found out about the email and then queried the LLM, so it didn't detect anything. There isn't any bug here, this is how LLMs operate.

Edit: here's a podcast discussing exactly this: https://youtu.be/RoIjWGi-w5o?is=2ly14A2UdKalHuAH
