i still use xiaomi redmi phones (the ones w/ headphone jack, IR blaster, able to be unlocked, compatible with crDroid) because of this reason. I really do wish these types of companies have more in terms of phone features than simply being sustainable and easy to unlock/customize..

BTW, this only happens (usually!!) if you install from the web, which.. like, if you don't have the tech literacy to figure out what's fake or not (especially banking?? Any reasonable bank HAS an app in official platforms, like the play store) then you don't need and shouldn't sideload, BUT the option is there for people like me, who use F-Droid and other FOSS-related apps.

The only downside is that unless people literally ignore warnings from the system for downloading apps (maybe first time stuff, then either the warning design sucks, or again, user error) then maybe just maybe they should read, if it's not official play store.

we need more of these people more or less, even though yes, they're dumb, that's like.. most of the population when it comes to the internet (like, only the young people even know of reddit here, much less use it..) and then there's the specific niches that are barely living in lemmy.. ah, end users..

Eternity for Lemmy (somewhat.. inactive? can't tell though) for Infinity Reddit App but for Lemmy, as it has the best UI for me out of all others, IMO and Quillpad, for note taking purposes, I love its notebook system, and the look of it.
