I have about as high hopes for this movie as I do for the Watch_Dogs movie that supposedly wrapped filming in 2024. After being in development since 2015.

Rather than answer your question, I'm going to tell a story that's almost relevant (as is tradition on the internet).

The Syndicate series of games started in 1993. They were squad-based, isometric, real-time strategy games. And then EA released this game in 2012 and called it "Syndicate" since they owned the rights to that franchise. But this new game was a FPS and had nothing to do with anyone previously associated with the series.

The lead developer of the Syndicate series was so annoyed by this game that he ran a kickstarter to make his own spiritual successor to Syndicate (since he didn't own the rights). That game is called Satellite Reign and it's fantastic.

Again, this has almost nothing to do with the game you're looking for. I just always like it when someone continues their work out of sheer spite.

I'd say Akira at least starts out cyberpunk with the biker gangs in the first half of the movie before going full-on biopunk in the second half. I get what you're saying though. That's why a while back I asked whether people thought eXistenZ was cyberpunk.

Silka Luisa worked previously on the Halo TV series as producer and writer. So we'll see how this goes...

SpamBlocker on fdroid can block any numbers not saved to your address book. It can even make exceptions for any repeated numbers that aren't in your contacts but call multiple times within some time period (5min, 30min, whatever). And it can temporarily whitelist a number you dialed recently in case you're expecting a call-back.

It also has the ability to download spam phone number databases from the internet if you want, but to be honest, I tried setting up that feature and couldn't figure it out. So while it can use a 3rd party, it isn't required.

I'm still not very optimistic about Jared Leto being the lead in a Tron movie, but that image does look good. I'm curious what they'll do with this story.

These are all just rumors so far, so I doubt it'll happen. But if it means the Neuromancer series is actually moving forward, I'm all for that.

If this means anything to anyone, Who Am I was directed by Baran bo Odar, who also made the Netflix series Dark. I just learned that after making this post.

Honestly, that's where I'm stuck. It depends on what you want out of the show. If you want more hacking, it's minimal. But if you want more focus on an unreliable narrator with mental health issues, the show is phenomenal.
