Formerly Keegen on Kbin.social(RIP), this is my Lemmy account.
Recent versions of KDE also automatically enable Do Not Disturb mode whenever you launch a full-screen window so you won't get interrupted by a notification anyway! Honestly surprised GNOME doesn't do that as well.
Companies realized they can sell cheats as microtransactions instead and people will pay for them. They will likely also include some cosmetic microtransactions like their previous game, which they definitely don't want people just cheating in. It's why so many single player games require being always online as well.
Modding is one of those few gaming things that still remains a massive pain on Linux compared to doing it on Windows, if they actually commit to supporting Linux and making sure it works on Wine/Proton games as well this would be massive! I've been modding my games manually ever since switching but having a mod manager is just so so so much nicer.
Note: This issue only applies to Nvidia, AMD users can have a completely different versions of Mesa installed on their system and in Flatpak. Nvidia drivers are closed source and they ship both the kernel and userspace drivers as one with no backwards compatibility so Flatpak must always use the exact same version as the system.
Yeah, stuffing more worms into your brain being purely a beneficial mechanic with no drawbacks is a very weird choice. This whole system was honestly better in early access than it ended up being, having the tadpoles be just a dialogue option with a very easy check but consequences the more you used them. The ring that Omeluum gives you was even supposed to help, only to get changes into a boring Charm resistance ring on release.
Not really surprising, they outsourced content creation to the community while pocketing a hefty cut from every transactions - free money with no effort involved, of course they don't plan to stop it! My expectations for Elder Scrolls 6 were already rock bottom low and confirming that it absolutely will have Creation Club doesn't help to raise the floor any higher.
I use Fedora which defaults to BTRFS and never once had an issue with any game because of it. Your file system shouldn't matter for gaming at all so long as you stay on Linux native ones and avoid NTFS Windows drives.
This is a completely different thing, Steam is dropping support for 32bit operating systems. Fedora hasn't had a 32bit release since version 31. What that proposal was about was dropping 32bit packages, which would break old 32bit games (and Steam itself, as it relies on a lot of 32bit libraries as well).
www.youtube.com##ytd-reel-shelf-renderer hides Shorts from the YT Subscriptions page, very useful if like me you don't care about those.
Outside of that I strongly recommend checking out uBlock's medium mode for anyone who wants a much stronger non-filterlist dependant protection at the cost of minor inconvenience.
I might not be using GNOME any more but there is one design philosophy it pushed that stuck with me and I employ it now on all other DEs - fuck desktop icons! They lead to nothing but clutter, much better to have all of your folders neatly organised inside of your /home than plastered all across your desktop space.
This article was either written in parts by AI or the author is in such a hurry they didn't have the time for even basic proofreading. In the first paragraph of the WoW part, they mention Shadowlands being the latest expansion (along with some hilariously false statements about it "bringing the game back to it's glory early years" despite it being an absolute flop) only to mention Dragonflight in the very next one, even linking a review from their own site!
This happens whenever you multi-class into paladin/cleric as any other character, didn't know you don't need to do so specifically for Shadowheart. The fact that the god specific paladin dialogue exists really makes me wish we got an optional god selection for paladins during character creation, having to sacrifice a feat or a bunch of class features just to get some RP dialogue kinda sucks.
I just checked and Dolphin very much has that feature, the wording in English might not be exactly the same as I have the UI in my native language but I found it in the hamburger menu under Sort by>Other>File extension.
