This was always a catch and kill project.
@lemmy.zip
This was always a catch and kill project.
Except, in this case, it's more like the pickpocket calling the murderer wrong. Which is appropriate, in this circumstance.
Electron is the only cross platform gui toolkit...
If you ignore QT, GTK and everything else.
I'm so glad that Microsoft makes an awesome cross platfor--- wait, no, but they contribute code to--- hmmm ... Hey, what does Microsoft do to make apps more portable again?
It's crazy how normalized gambling became the last 10 or so years.
It used to be really hard to gamble legally. Now it's hard to find someone not pushing "legal gambling" everywhere. Meanwhile, we still can't smoke weed in some parts of the world? What?
The term "unalive" is so cringey yet dystopian that I don't know whether to feel embarrassed or concerned when I hear it.
The world's first opt-in computer worm. 🐛 🪱
More cases of "rules for thee and not for me", of course. You won't see the DOJ arresting anyone in the Trump family making the same kind of bets.
If this guy's lawyer is smart about this, they should ask for discovery on specific instances of insider trading that we know about like the Iran bombing bets made on Kalshi or similar platforms. It would probably be a quick way to get the case dismissed or at least settled out.
It's stupid as hell to share any personal information with a company that is interested in spying on you and feeding your data to the nearest advertiser they can find.
Like seriously -- are people using their brains or what?
This guy is so dumb, man.
As if "we'll just kill people" isn't just a declaration of war. 🙄
"In principle I like being a democracy. But the practice of it? Nah, I'd rather we do secretive bullshit."
Neat, I'll keep this in mind next time the liberals are in power lol.
Hot take: the biggest issue is actually ever entering a community and seeing zero comments. Most reddit addiction stems from wanting to read comments, so I think people should add a comment to something if they're upvoting and they see that the thread has zero comments.
Nothing eliminates enthusiasm like seeing 0 comments on every post in a community, especially if that community is driven by bots.
I've always liked how the chad has his ass on backwards.
Ofcourse they'd employ trump's tactic of racking up costs and simply refusing to pay. I'd say the student learns from the master, but I'm not sure which one is which here.
Crazy how nVidia is the backbone of the modern tech oligarchy.
Glad Steve made this video to expose the craziness of the whole thing.
Ah I've been noticing some weird youtube behavior lately. This probably explains it.
Crazy something like this passes a company as large as Google's eyes.
If you have the lid closed, you’re looking at 3 to 15 watts to have a laptop running in the background doing some basic server shit.
Not all laptops make effective use of power with the lid closed, sadly. Not saying this as a correction, but for others to know that they need to make sure these settings are available in the bios of the system they are buying.
Yeah, I actually think this policy is 100% correct and, if more services did this instead of eating the costs, we could have a real discussion about the harm caused by arbitrary fees.
It will likely result in Apple seeking a special deal with Patreon to avoid this mess though. It's really not a good look for Apple especially as they cater themselves to the creatives market.
It's a bit strange that this code requires a binary blob to verify, I think people who want to experiment with this should take some caution as it could be an exploit-in-an-exploit (user is highlighting a real exploit, but also trying to take advantage of people testing by effectively installing a back-door.) I won't say that's happening for sure, but take running this yourself with extreme caution.
I couldn't believe how many people bought that Harry Potter game that came out like 2 years ago. Not only was the game shitty looking ubishlock, but also we've known for years just how f***ed up jk rowling is as a person.
Having said that, as I child I remember protesting against the school trying to encourage me to buy Harry Potter at the school book faire. I get now that they were only trying to encourage me to read by suggesting a popular book, but I really didn't like the cult-like obsession around this book even as a kid, so I've had bad vibes around the book series since the very-late 90s lol.
I was expecting something juicy but the dossier is basically... Anything we all already know about JD Vance?
And he's still blocking it? Hmmm... Ok, well whatever. This is why you don't use ex dot com.
thanks for using Leebra!
