I went to a coffee shop yesterday that tried to tell me they only accepted orders through their app. I almost walked out, until the finally poured my coffee, but continued to give me shit about it, "ok but next time you have to use the app"

"Yea no. There will be no next time."

I got into this with a coffee shop recently. Apparently they were "online order and pickup only." And i went in trying to get coffee. One person was trying to help me, and what i assume was her manager was being a dick.

"Just download the app and put your order in."

"Nah im not going to do that. I just want a black coffee. Nothing fancy."

other employee rings me up, pours me a cup, and is seemingly just trying to help me gtfo

Exactly. I dabble in competitive assessment and the amount of times weve got competitors data because they didnt flatten a file is astounding. The one we try every time with moderate success is checking every picture to see if you can "uncrop" it. So many times the rest of the picture is actually in the file and the crop is just for display purposes. Most of the time the rest of the photo is useless, but ill never forget the time we got the whole process map for their upcoming production schedule

Incase anyone wants to help their local community. I talked to my local food pantry today and they said they prefer financial donations vs food drops. They can make a dollar go further than we can at the grocery store

We definitely had to regulate this in college. We threw some ragers where we specifically knew it couldnt be documented where we collected phones and had a whole coat check system. Thankfully, facebook was only for college people, so nothing catastrophic ever happened

Ive always differentiated lemmy/reddit from social media for 2 main reasons. First because it isnt (or wasnt) full of "influencers" trying to push shit on you. Second and probably more so, becausee its anonymous. I dont know anyone one here personally and no one knows me. These platforms are more like collections of the internet with a comment section, imo. Not much different than things like The Chive or even a news site, but instead of news, its memes and sometimes news

You also need some way to validate that its not interface specific. The amount of threads that ive been in that have had people complaining that the artist name was cropped, but in my app (voyager) ive been able to see the whole image, is too damn high.

Dont forget that you should get a sticker as big as the tailgate on your truck that looks like you have him bound and gagged in the bed of your truck!
