Heck, it is objectively measured by a LLM adjacent seller like Faros AI.

The more LLM code in your company, the slower delivery and more bugs that you likely find on production.

Literally data is at 60% of daily tasks being LLM assisted, the throughput is (every value is an average) 500% slower, company delivers 10% less and the bug rate is +50% per PR and +250% production incidents.

At 40% of daily task being LLM assisted the bug rate was +9% vs pre-LLM.

Food in the tunnels is how you get even more rats... And what would happen when one breaks inside. What about rotting food spillage.

Most of Africa, from what I heard from African developers.

There are still large patches where the internet has outages often, data centers there too suffer from it. Same with energy, depending on the region it is not a guarantee.

(This is of course a consequence of Africa still transforming and putting up infrastructure, and it varies vastly depending on the region).

It's hard to code with remote LLMs if they can go dark for half a day, and it is pricey to have it running on a local stack (at good token output speed).

Sure one can, currently, get decent code output by using hundreds or thousands of tokens, or using multiple LLMs / loops, or having agents go burn however many on iteration!

This always stumps me. Because if that was true, Anthropic products (API, Cache, Claude Cowork, Claude Code) would not be shitty.

They are shitty. They are coded shittily, and Anthropic is unable to solve some bugs for years now. E.g. there is the console flickering bug that they tried to fix 3 times and rollbacked or failed all of them.

Or maybe we define decent differently.

The author could totally rehash the ancient Athenian arguments, as their flavour of democracy was Sortition - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sortition . They (e.g. Aristotle, Plato) argued against elections - because rich and wealthy would capture them and take over the government, perverting it to further enrich themselves. The only way to have a democratic body was to select Senate (slight simplification, read the wiki for details) at random from all adult citizens.

This has been known to humanity for over 2500 years.

This concludes my democracy talk.

working at a chinese company would be fucking awful

I got floored when I was told they get 5 days of paid vacation (10 if you worked for 10-20 years and 15 days if you worked for 20+ years) , and no vacation for the first year in a new company, and they have like ~7 days of public holidays.

Oh, and no paid sick leave (for a flue etc - you will get it for operations and similar but they must be dona via public hospitals).

Meanwhile here in Poland we get 5 weeks + 13 public holidays, and if they happen to be during weekend you get an extra day free later, and it's considered rather low for the EU. And unlimited paid sick leave, including for fatigue etc.

But they do commit ~50% of spouse murders, so at least thet have that for them?

Oh, and the women are vastly underrepresented in the victim statistics.

Interestingly, some researchers when they control for provocation, do find that the difference is because of gender norms, and without them the violence rates equalize - see https://psycnet.apa.org/...

Another fun fact, when it comes to incarceration rates women do tend to get more lenient sentences because they are women (and act pitiful on the trail) - however it is slowly changing as more and more judges slowly learn to ignore that bullcrap.

Sources and initial readings can be found in this wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/...

It is fun :)

You must be pretty uneducated to think that USA did not mess with Europe economy, politics, society etc etc.

I mean for fuck sake, USA was both funding and directing terrorist attacks all over the Europe up until 1990s

(Years of Lead, Operation Gladio...)

Hanging out alone with out a child at a playground sure

Here in Poland playgrounds are often extended with a public outdoor gym or something similar. That solves all problems, making them social centers for both child-free and parents.

E.g.

With fenced playground:

And no fence anywhere

Hot take - men are against de jure "positive discrimination" in favour of women because there's no de jure "positive discrimination" in favour of men.

https://melissahogenboom.substack.com/...

She tries to explore the statistics where new generations feel that feminism is no longer about lifting up women but putting down men.

It is interesting to see that she mentions that women outperform men academically and in early earnings. She however fails to explore why that happens.

I can't speak about your country and your culture - I can only speak about mine. I will be quoting women feminists (with links), but in Polish (I tried autotranslating them and they seem readable).

Here in Poland men are de jure (and de facto) discriminated against in all levels of education, e. g. https://www.rp.pl/... in early education: girls have now better average scores in language than boys and equal in math, but for their gender girls are offered extra points to qualify for "math excellence extracurricular programs", as uni STEM only sees only ~40% of women. There is no similar program for uni bio or med, where men are only ~25%.

Heck: https://krytykapolityczna.pl/... - she explores forms of de juro and de facto discrimination against men in Poland, lack of interest from progressive and leftist parties to even mention men discrimantion and issues (and even blaming men for them), and finishes the article saying that she sees the right-wing counterforce parties getting access to men because of all that.

So yeah - if you base your feminism at "When someone is accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression", then that feminism is bad.

Oh god, another time I see that cat killing birds statistics.

  1. Cats prefer to kill rodents and are more equipped to it. And the same study Loss et al estimates cat killing rodents to be 4 times more than birds.
  2. Rodents (e.g. rats) eats bird eggs. Same researcher fails to calculate how much...
  3. All studies (well, 1 study in Australia) that compared bird population with cats in rodent areas confirm that removal of cats hastened decrease of bird population 2 times.
  4. Loss at all is a metastudy. Some of the data sources on cat predation and other collisions are 70-100 years old. Some are more recent, but overall data quality on bird death is local, from small sample, and estimated. My favourite was a study on 10 cats in 3 villages estimated over a whole damn country.
  5. The graph seems to be missing all other non-collision sources of bird population death, e.g. rodents eating birds, pesticide related deaths, electrocutions form powerlines, etc. etc.

Boy you're in for a ride.

Oracle finances Paramount buying out Warner Bros.

Other shady shit Oracle does: https://thedreydossier.substack.com/...
