So Google won't make APIs that allow developers access to RCS and therefore the ability to integrate it into third party messaging clients, but this is potentially kosher? Go fuck your hat Alphabet.
No, no. He's right. I didn't vote for him. I did vote. I wish I didn't live here. I'm doing what I can since getting out isn't really an option, but we have to acknowledge the damage and turmoil we as a collective are doing to the citizens of the world. The orange pedo might be making you're life or my life fucking miserable, but we are still probably better off than any of the families of the school children he bombed.
Telling any of them that you didn't vote for him isn't going to make them feel any better while the amount of suffering he is causing us is a fraction of the suffering he is causing other people. I'm not saying you can't be upset or that your suffering isn't valid. It's not a zero sum game, I'm just saying I think it's worth understanding where the rest of the world might be coming from right now.
Even if we pretend that is true, the statement you are responding to is about statistics that predate Biden... by decades. Violent crime has been going down since the 90s. On average people are probably safer today than they were fifty or even thirty years ago.
Would it make any sense to switch to some kind of physical application process? Not necessarily in person, but require the applications/résumés be mailed in? The advantage that these automated models have is that they are basically for the user to submit as many applications as possible. Requiring that the application be physically mailed would create at least some small barrier and cost that would mean the applicants wouldn't be able to apply a near infinite number of times.
They also appear to have a fundraiser for the same thing here if you want to donate but don't need a shirt
Or if you want to donate to the Union directly you can do so here

I'm in no way associated with them, I spent all of 10 seconds searching for those links, there is some indication the two links might ultimately go to the same place, but either way I thought I'd drop them in the comments if there was anyone else like me that would want to throw them some money but didn't need another "thing" in return.
I did. It wasn't an amazing movie, but it wasn't bad. Given what it is I think it benefited from not being super long and feeling like it dragged on. I enjoyed it, but I haven't watched a superhero movie in several years, and I saw it in a full spec IMAX theater.
So a FANUC controller?
Did yours spin sideways or vertically?
/looks sideways in mild autism
uhhhhhhhhh that's never seemed like a great idea for a variety of reasons 😅
Why are you quoting item #3 from their list without the full context of the statement? They aren't saying the code should be accepted or used. They are basically saying don't automatically assume malicious intent on the contributor and instead use it as an opportunity to potentially teach that contributor about why that kind of contribution will be rejected and what they could do instead. It's all about outreach.
Sure, but you don't know the first thing about how much everyone else is suffering as well.
I'm not the OP, nor am I very good at succinctly summarizing what's in my head in a way that I'm confident would do the topic justice.
The specific term you probably want to look up is "Linear no threshold".
I think the video Kyle Hill did several months ago though covers the topic very well though.

I have some small nitpicks on how exactly he argued a couple of his points, but his over all point seems reasonable.
LawfulMasses did a video covering this exact question a week or two ago and explained the relevant details in what seemed to be a fairly clear manner. Keeping in mind that he is a lawyer but is arguing in favor of consumer rights and the AGPL so there may be a valid counter argument.
I don't think I would be doing a disservice to try and summarize what he stated in the video, but my takeaway was that the plugin was an attempt to dodge the AGPL, but the AGPL specifically has measures for that kind of tomfoolery.
Video if anyone is interested.
Ooh, sounds spicy.
The hard set limit of #500-#999 is really frustrating when you also have to be careful not to overwrite certain kinds of "standard" program variables that your shop or company has decided on. I'm generally pretty OK with the limitations of these controllers and G-Code in general, but I would fucking kill to be able to use an array or to be able to declare a variable 😭.
Honestly, pretty much what I do now just probably a more glamorized or idealistic version of it. My favorite toys growing up were wooden building blocks and Duplo and from a very young age I (incorrectly) mapped what I enjoyed about those things to the profession of architecture and that's what I always told people that's what I wanted to do.
Luckily I was able to figure out that what I really enjoyed and wanted to do was engineering. As long as I'm designing things and solving problems I'm pretty happy. It doesn't really matter what the context is.
Which is the thing people don't get about higher registration fees on electric vehicles and why they may be necessary (sort of). Tax on fuel paid at the pump funds roads, but since EVs aren't buying fuel and weigh as much or more they should probably pay something towards road maintenance. Assuming keep the current funding model, which I'm not convinced is the best model.
I'm fairly pro EV and most taxes like fuel tax have always felt a little regressive even if I'm able to pay for it just fine. I don't know what the actual answer is, but it does seem like the short fall could likely be generated by better taxing wealthy corporations and improving public transportation.
I actually think that might be a good thing. I'd still chose to be an engineer in that scenario. Something that's bothered me for a while are people in professions because they pay well not because they are good at them or enjoy them. I don't blame the person, they are just trying to support themselves and their family in this one life they have to live. I'm bothered by the system that forces them to make that decision.
I've had a bit of a tumble
There are plastics that can be made from renewable materials as well. Not that I'm advocating for 3D printed houses, I think that is a terrible idea, but not for any of the arguments made here.
