the family admitted that the victims was constantly being bullied, so good chance for suicide there too

Or, the victim was constantly harassed until being found hanging from a tree, so there's already a motive and likely a handful of suspects

According to the CDC about 12,000 people a year hanged themselves

Any estimates on how many did it outdoors, where they're likely to be interrupted? See, this is the suspicious part. Basically no-one ever attempts hanging in public. Here, you have seven people over a year and the police just shrugs.

This is the first I hear about this movie and I've been to the cinema thrice this past month. Was it even distributed in Europe? I feel like the marketing team dropped the ball.

Have you considered that the friends might be insincere about their own frequency too? In many societies masturbation is considered shameful. Even when people admit they do it, they might not want you to think they do it "too much".

Don't beat yourself over it, the joke is hilarious. I think transgressive jokes require you to be really careful about your audience to:

  1. Not hurt or offend a member of a vulnerable population
  2. Not reinforce harmful stereotypes in people too dumb to tell jokes from reality
  3. Not make racists think you approve of their worldview

That usually leaves only the family and closest friends, if you're lucky. That being said some of those jokes are absolutely excellent, especially those that refer to neutral characteristics, such as an accent.

Sure, but I cannot eliminate that link. I can, however, queue to the cashier so that they can put food on the table.

I'm Eastern European, my country was exploited by USSR until less than 40 years ago. My bad for getting excited about the prospect of being able to walk in old age, it's all my fault for -checks notes- joining a freedom of trade and movement organisation

If there were a way that you could have 50% more attention for your kids, yourself, and the people around you, how much would that be worth for you? How much is your attention worth?

Following this logic they could just as well stick a $50 000 price tag in it. It still wouldn't be defensible.

Manufacturing a phone in small numbers is not cheap

Sure, but is it so much more expensive than manufacturing a HMD 2660, which does more or less the same things and retails for approx. $100?

Let's be for real, the whole Commodore thing nowadays is milking gen X nostalgia for all it's worth. And I don't think it's worth that much.

It's a machine that supports your breathing while you sleep. If you have sleep apnea, you will stop breathing multiple times during the night, which will prevent you from properly resting. CPAP machine connects to a mask on your face and produces a slightly elevated air pressure, which forces air into your lungs.

If you suspect you might have sleep apnea, you should first see a doctor. I see you use €, so there's a chance you won't need to pay to use a machine - you might get one from your health care operator for free.

For example: my family member in Finland got a diagnosis, and with it he got issued a machine, on the condition that he uses it on most nights. The machine is internet connected. Once a year a doctor makes a remote check-up: they look through the data collected by the machine to see if it works well for you (effective air pressure, persistent obstructions etc.). If you use the machine on most nights (at least 70% of the year), you get to keep it for another year. You also get a new mask, hose and air filter once a year for free.

I hope you can have a similar experience in your home country.

(Forgot to add: I have no idea what the "good enough" CPAP machine costs, it might have to do with the necessary air pressure or other factors i know nothing about. You really should ask your doctor first)

I'm not entering the exploitation olympics here, feel free to disregard my argument if Eastern Europe doesn't clear the suffering threshold in your book.

No matter what BMW tries to tell you in their press releases, they were never considered a luxury brand in Europe. As for German cars it goes more or less like this: Maybach >>>>>>> Porsche >>> Audi > Mercedes >>>>>>>>>>>> BMW > Volkswagen > Opel.

I know there are options but all I can find are from manufacturers I don't know/trust. Which one are you using?

Edit: I mean directly

They're already calling LLMs "AI", calling dumb terminals "smart glasses" doesn't seem that much of a stretch. And I think they only scrapped it after unfavourable reporting, not because they couldn't make it work. Not saying they could make it work well and not be racist in the first place, but when did that ever stop them?

Edit: they only scrapped the code from the consumer product, I'm sure they'll keep developing it. Another report mentions an internal memo about releasing it during turmoil to minimise backlash. They're going to push it sooner or later unless law is passed to prevent them.

If they were introducing some groundbreaking tech I could agree, but they're using premade components to make their own version of an existing product. And sure, it's cheaper to manufacture at scale but 5x the going price is way too much. For comparison, Nothing Phone launched 4 years ago at $400. By that logic it should've cost ~$1500.
