Oh, I thought Ubuntu Touch doesn't support Flatpaks, interesting. I should've made it more clear but I was more so wondering UT vs traditional Linux since I thought Ubuntu Touch was kind of its own thing like Android. Guess I might have been wrong though. Thank you for the information!

Ubuntu Touch is kind of its own thing iirc, since you need distrobox to run normal Linux apps on it and can't use flatpak. That is true for PostMarketOS and Droidian though

Nah, it wasn't for testifying against data centers, it was (probably) to save money after they no longer needed me. Basically, I worked at the Amazon warehouse in late 2024. To the detriment of my physical and mental well-being, I endured everything they threw at me, hoping to move up the ladder one day, but they apparently chose to stab me in the back at the very start of 2025. They just suddenly fired me out of the blue with no clear explanation. I didn't even find out until I tried to show up to work the next week and wondered why my badge wasn't working. During my appeal, I found that they claim that I didn't show up on 3 days that I hadn't been paid for yet. The manager promised to review the security footage to settle my dispute, but it appears he never did, as they ultimately denied my request—which means its impossible for him to have actually do so given that I am positive I was present on those days. I can't fight it in court since I didn't have the foresight to collect evidence to defend myself, so they hold all the cards and could just alter them to win. I have never forgiven Amazon and have boycotted them ever since, I even refuse to use Twitch because my grudge against Amazon isn't just a moral one, but a personal one. And no, I never got paid for the days they claimed I didn't show up for, so they got 36 hours of my labor for free (we were doing mandatory overtime for the holidays). So, when this article claims that they fire people who testified against data centers, I 100% believe it.

It might be a little too late for that since it was over a year ago, though I could be wrong

As someone who worked for Amazon for 3 months before they unjustly fired me, I can confirm

Well, it wasn't just cost at the time. Long story short, around the same time, I thought that I might have to become a criminal to supply my sister with HRT since I knew that Project 2025 wanted to ban all trans affirming care. So I decided to not fight it for my sister's sake. Looking back, I think I vastly overestimated how fast they could do that though. Anyway, I would be shocked if any evidence is left though considering it was over a year ago, they might have scrubbed all the security footage and records by now

Bruh, bluffs aren't going to work anymore. Trump indirectly proved to Iran that we truly don't have a back up plan for when the strait is closed during the American-Iranian War. All this is going to do is make the current deal we have even worse

Can't believe they made my 2010 Scion XD a data center 16 years ago

So, our tax dollars going to feed the poor or ensuring everyone has quality health care is unfair to the tax payer....but the ball room that benefits no one but the president is completely fair? It's almost like MAGA's entire worldview isn't consistent at all and is just hyper racist and partisan. Just a thought

I wish I had the foresight you did and built my PC beforehand. I didn't drown myself in politics until after Trump won though

Didn't America win the war with Iraq though? I could be wrong since I'm not super informed on the war in Iraq, but we militarily defeated Saddam Hasan. Other than that though, if you count both sides in the Korean War as losers, then you're right

Microsoft appeared to walk back Recall until they suddenly brought it back unannounced and doubled down. So I'll believe it when I see it

Does a verification equate to an endorsement now? I'm strongly against ICE, but as long as ICE exists, then it makes sense to verify their official account. That's all verification is to me at least, just something to let you know it's the real _ account rather than an imposter.

Seek asylum where? Canada? They're also slowly becoming more right wing and cracking down on immigration iirc. Which is unfortunate, since I might be forced to become a criminal to support my sister's right to exist

Jesus Christ. Can we just band together and do a coup to overthrow Trump and Vance at this point? This is going to be a needless bloodbath on both sides

Wait, browsers still had RSS support? I thought that was deprecated a decade ago. I've been using dedicated apps for them

Bruh, I wish I made $70,000/yr. It was what I went to college for after all only for the entire world to change after 4 years, now I can't afford myself and in debt.

Regardless, this is ignoring the fact that inflation has increased the cost of groceries in general, not just lunch. Even though Trump ran on it, apparently inflation never actually happened now that he's in office. The collective amnesia from the right when it benefits them is just infuriating
