...Which is what we used to have. And it sucked.
It's like people don't remember how bad shit was pre-Obamacare.
@lemmy.zip
I was once spelunking a file that hadn't been touched in like 7 years, and there was a weird line where it was adding 2 to the index for seemingly no reason. The comment was like // Sam: not sure why this is off by 2 here. See ticket #12345 for discussion
Whatever issue tracking software it was referencing was no longer used, so that ticket was gone, and who TF is Sam?
I'm a big fan of AOC, but I think I'd rather her wait until 2032. The next presidency (if there even is one) is going to be a fucking shitshow trying to clean up Trump's messes. I'd rather her get the opportunity to be a "get shit done" President, instead of having to spend all her time rooting out Trump's traitors in the government while getting villainized in the media.
Walk into class
Pull laptop out of bag, put it on the desk
Whip out mechanical keyboard
Mouse, small set of stereo speakers
Pull out a large object wrapped in a blanket
Everyone else watches confusedly
Take off blanket, unveiling a 28in monitor
Whip out power strip
Put power strip on the adjacent desk, no one is sitting there anyway
20ft extension cord
The outlet is on the far wall, run the extension cord between the desks
Apologize to everyone bumped into a long the way
Play World of Warcraft the entire time
Fun read!
And even today, anyone who has worked on a project where some developers are on Windows and some are not has probably encountered the fun that is configuring autocrlf in Git: Windows uses CRLF ("carriage return, line feed") as a line ending in text files, while other systems just use LF.
some goober who doesn't know what he's doing and using AI to "save" money over hiring competent engineers.
I think that's replit's whole deal. They are "vibe coding for everyone" or some such
