My vote is put that energy into the Fediverse!

I'm not against joining the Fediverse, but I don't think they are going to support the features I want to implement.

Seems like a relatively easy thing for reputation to be implemented in the lemmy framework no?

A few years ago as part of a 12-startups-in-12-months effort, [...] It didn’t get much traction

I think I can imagine a connection.

Instead of imagining, give me your opinion.

Can you expand on why you'd want to autoplay full screen videos? I'm not sure I'm understanding you correctly, or if I am then I'm not understanding why that's desirable?

Most sites you have to click the thumbnail, then click play, then click the fullscreen button. That said, it's optional under settings.

You could write a front end client for Lemmy. Right now I think theirs only like one app for each platform, with lots of room for UX improvements. The site you have is fine but I know I won’t personally be investing any time that’s not backed by web standards, with distributed stake holders. I think maybe you’re asking the wrong crowd here because we’re all likely to be inclined against letting another digg/Reddit situation happen where the people that find themselves in a leadership position can ruin the whole thing

Most modern browsers don't allow auto-playing video at all, or only allow auto-play with content muted... How are you getting around that?

edit: I see you mean just make it the one interaction click to do all those things simultaneously.
