Instance has been updated to v0.18.1

Big update this, this update comes with captcha being available which has now been re-enabled for sign up. This means signups are once again open (as captcha should filter out most bots).

Quite a few UI changes in this one and quite a few performance updates as well (mainly around how the database works). If anyone is interested our CPU average is around 8-10% usage and the memory usage has dropped to around 5% usage so the instance is looking pretty stable.

What are the benefits of using your hosted wefwef over wefwef.app? Any downsides? (slower updates?)

Yeh just fixed it, I need to find a better way of updating the wefwef site as atm, every update to the instance will break the wefwef site lol. Problem for another day

Not to give you more to do, but I get a "problem uploading image" with the wefwef instance on feddit.uk, but wefwef.app works fine. Same account, same community.

Hey Tom, I’m not sure how you’re hosting wefwef and Lemmy. But I’ve got a similar setup as FedditUK, where I have the Lemmy-UI at mydomain.org and Wefwef at w.mydomain.org. I have Lemmy and Wefwef in seperate docker containers and updates to either don’t affect the other.
