This talk of Mbappe to Arsenal doesn’t make sense to me.

I know he’s a “once in a generation” talent but I just don’t see how he’d fit in with what the Gunners are building. He’s the right age profile, but I don’t see him in this team.

What am I missing?

We've never been the club to throw enormous salaries at players. It's like Wenger said, "We don't buy superstars, we make them."

I'll tell you what you are missing.... delusion, and lots of it. I just can't see us competing on a financial level with other teams.

Don't get me wrong, I would love for us to be a in a position where we could sign a player of his caliber, but we aren't quite there yet.

Yeah and on top of that, I think its pretty illogical to think that we would spend 105m on Rice and then spend that large again on another player. It would be cool to be proven wrong but that seems like the major signing of the summer.

You are right. Rice is our big spend signing, and Kai + Timber are quality signings that won't break the bank. They all fit our recent signings to a tee (young, talented, good character).

We realistically should be looking to get rid of players at this point, not spend more. It would be nice to offload Balogun, Pepe, Cedric, Sambi for decent fees to help us recoup some of the 200m we will spend this year.

I'll genuinely be surprised if we sign anyone else this summer, unless like Partey or Tierney gets a move — and even then in the latter case we might not move into the market.

Wasn't this Mbappe to Arsenal rumour started by the Turkish youtuber? Either way he's got too much baggage to not be a distraction here, I'm more than happy with what we have

If you go after a player like Mbappe, you make the team work with him in it by hook or by crook. Wouldn't worry as it isn't happening!
