Why does Maoism have a following in the third world?

4 years ago by sludgeyrevolution to c/communism101

I heard Maoism is popular in India. Why? What is so appealing about committing terrorism in the name of left-deviationism?

maoism was cooked in the third world, reading about it and seeing how it turned out is a really convincing motive to follow it to the t, without adapting it to your current condition.

that and india being near china made maoism popular there
