lemmy.ml blocked silently?

3 years ago by nyan to c/general

It's the "silently" part that's the issue. I acknowledge that lemmy.cafe is entitled to defederate from whatever servers the administration pleases, but lemmy.ml still houses some of the largest communities in the Lemmyverse on some topics, and a heads-up that it was being blocked would have been appreciated.

You're right, I'm sorry. I should've communicated it, but life got in a way. Will do better in the future.

I want to thank you for blocking lemmy.ml. I specifically tried to find an instance that blocks lemmy.ml, and it turns out Lemmy Cafe is the only one. Will you consider blocking hexbear too?

Hexbear and lemmygrad have been blocked since pretty much the very beginning. Lemmy exposes linked and blocked instances at the /instances endpoint.

Welcome aboard!

Thanks but I found hexbear on the linked instances list, and not on the blocked list:

Thanks for the heads up! I must've removed it by accident. Fixed!

Is there any backstory or explanation for the hatred of lemmy.ml? =)

They are a bunch of toxic edge-lord children. Check the mod logs to see how childish and shitty their mods are when they ban people they disagree with.
