Need to view one of my posts on the subreddit
3 years ago by devicemodder to c/askelectronics
I have a few old posts on the subreddit and i need to view one of them as i am reviving an old project. there is a comment on one of them that has the info i need. I never screenshotted that info.
this is the link: https://old.reddit.com/...
i'd use google's cache page but it doesn't have this cached.
What exact info do you need?
not all the comments are there though. I need the comments under the >continue this thread links too.
Tried reveddit or one of the other services for seeing removed posts?
reveddit doesnt seem to find my link
The sub is currently available in Restricted mode so all posts can be viewed but new ones cannot be submitted. The sub is currently polling subredditors for their vote on whether to stay open or go dark again. Check your post while you can!
Internet archive?
the problem with archive.org is not all the comments are available.
https://www.reddit.com/settings/data-request if it's your comment (won't help if it's someone else's comment on your post).
Make a GDPR request for all of your data. If they still have it, it'll be part of the dump. Expect to wait the full 30 days they're allowed before they give it to you.
it's someone else's comment that i need to see. and as for the 30 days dump... kinda urgent anyways, even if it was my own comment.
Here's a quick way: become a scab mod for reddit. Get your thread and while you're at it scrape the sub to archive it, then lock it down again. They are reopening subs whenever they find replacement mods right now. I don't know if they would rely on you alone but chances are high.
I’ll try to find your post on the-eye's archive Isn't the subreddit open now?

The Internet corollary to Murphy's Law: If you post something, it's public forever unless you need it later, then it'll have link-rotted. Anything you want to delete will be archived, anything you want to save will be deleted.
