I don't think the problem is the jury voting system so much as the people selected to be on the juries. They seem to be a lot less open to different musical genres. It's as if the juries are 20 years behind the general public.

This is my take too. The system isn't what gives us the same sort of thing winning the jury vote year after year, that's the jurors themselves.

There was that analysis someone did on...the other site...that showed just changing the jury/tele percentage didn't even make a difference most years until you get right down to 25%/75%, so just tweaking the numbers isn't the way to go.

It's good they're acknowledging this, Sweden's victory really left a sour taste in my mouth after being led by the juries.

It all felt a bit engineered: Repeat appearance from a popular winner a few years ago, juries polarised to either loads of points, or barely any, and it just so happens that the year after is the 50th anniversary of ABBA winning.

And some of the looks from the Swedish green room when it looked like they might not get the victory...I don't know, maybe I just really wanted ChaChaCha to win.

Obviously this year revealed a real disparity between the jury and the voting public so we can only see how they will tackle this.
