Oh, and, there’s an entire Lemmy NSFW instance if that’s your thing. lemmynsfw.com
For some reason your links aren't working for me, they all go to 404 pages.
Sort of manual but try this as a kbin.social user:
https://kbin.social/m/{lemmy community} <-- but without the '!'
e.g. https://kbin.social/m/showerthoughts@lemmy.world
Remember to remove the '!' :)
There's an issue with link formatting right now.
You can try removing the ! in the link you're getting a 404 on (it should be /m/community not /m/!community) or using search and searching for the community name using a leading @ instead of !
This was annoying me so I just threw together a firefox/chrome extension to automatically change those. This should probably just be addressed in the kbin source code but that's gonna take more time lol
edit: Published as a GreaseMonkey script too https://greasyfork.org/...
@michikade Apologies if this is not the place to ask this... but I created an account here and when I click on these it asks me to log in and apparently I need a separate account for Lemmy? Is this correct? And I am on Mastodon as https://ioc.exchange/@adamcsmith and I cannot use that ID for either of these?
I believe you just need to enter those strings into the magazine search and it should allow you to subscribe from here.
Those links redirect to the communities in those instances. You can 100% participate and sub to them from your Kbin account, or even your Mastodon account because all Fediverse apps use ActivityPub as its base. Just look for the community from the search section of your Fediverse instance, and sub to it there, and then you can interact with it from your current account. So for example, showerthoughts hosted on lemmy.world can be accessed on kbin via https://kbin.social/m/showerthoughts@lemmy.world
Not exactly. Think of other instances as just other forums that all connect to each other (which is what federation is). Lemmy is essentially just different forum software, but it still federates with kbin. If you want to find the subs/magazines/communities/whatever-we're-calling-them mentioned above in kbin, go to the Magazines tab at the top and search for their names, or just change the URL to kbin.social/m/<community-name-without-the-!>, such as https://kbin.social/... for mildlyinfuriating. As long as the subs are federated, you can subscribe and interact with them from kbin even if they exist on a lemmy instance (and vice versa).
You shouldn’t need an extra account for Lemmy because kbin and lemmy are federating now, as does Mastodon, so they should all play together. Hopefully someone who knows a little bit more about how to call up a Lemmy community in kbin can help — I know in Lemmy, if the community isn’t already known by the instance, you can make it show up by putting the full URL in the search box within your instance (so like if I, through my lemmy.world account, wanted to join a kbin magazine that no one else has joined on my instance, in the search box I can make the instance find it by putting in https://kbin.social/m/((magazine name)) in the search and it’ll come up).
Hopefully someone at kbin can verify the best way to discover Lemmy communities over there so everyone can keep playing together.
You're being linked directly to the community on its own instance. In this case you want to view it from this instance, and there are some issues with automatic link formatting right now. If you want to go to the community (magazine) from here, you can put /m/communityName in the url i.e. kbin.social/m/showerthoughts@lemmy.world
edit: Bah! What is the correct format to link to communities / magazines on other servers? Will update when I figure it out.
Reformatted for kbin users.

Opening in a new tab should work. For some reason clicking on it is sending me to /u/ instead of /m/.
I used to be a mod on r/snowboarding. I'm leaving Reddit, and today I purged my account, and left the mod team over there.
I created https://kbin.social/m/snowboarding/ a few days ago, if anyone wants to contribute to it.
Obviously, June is a terrible month to try and entice people to join a snow-related community, but that's how things happen sometimes, haha.
Actually it might not be so bad - it is snowboarding season now in countries like New Zealand, Australia, Chile and Argentina, some that have just crossed my mind (Southern Hemisphere). If you like an international audience, you might get stuff from these places.
I am coming from Reddit too. I am/was (idk) just an ordinary redditor, though. Let's hope we can create a great place here :)
For photography, the biggest one (in terms of subscribers at least) I've found so far is @photography , if anyone's interested.
If anyone has recommendations for other photography spaces hit me up.
Hi, I've just created @beermoneyuk, inspired by /r/beermoneyuk. It's not an official port (wasn't a mod there), but I was a relatively active member of that subreddit and would like it to continue here if possible as well.
Here's kbin's version of indieheads. It's low activity now but I'm trying to get some stuff on there.
I made a magazine that's a successor to both r/CRTgaming and r/CRT: https://kbin.social/m/CRTs/
https://lemmy.ml/c/abstractphotography
/r/Reaper (55k) -> https://forum.cockos.com/
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates (15k) -> https://kbin.social/m/men
r/bsg (Battlestar Galactica) -> m/bsg
thanks for using Leebra!

On Mobile so I have limited ability to do a mass update of the database as listed, but -

Edit: fixed them all to be actual links and not just text to be more helpful cross platforms.
