Ha' that's right!
Ha' that's right!
I'm not entirely sure which community it is, but I can make an educated guess, and wonder why he didn't do the same since it looks like there was already a bigger community for said topic.
But yea I don't see an issue with having multiples of one topic across an instance, especially when some instances have smaller groups or are more focused on a certain type of person, I mean federation means anyone can participate of course, but it's more likely the ones on the instance are going to if it's a smaller group.
I do not want to expose anyone, so I have censored the username. It is important to me that we are cool here and respect each other :)
It is only a guess, but I assume that the person unfortunately does not know what the fediverse is and how it works.
I spoke with the admin of a community on lemmy.world and directed people on my lemmy.ml community to on the lemmy.world instance.
While we are low on users, it makes sense to consolidate more.
Not everyone needs to do that though.
Look at beehaw.org. They just defederated from lemmy.world. Now a whole lot of people can't comment on their news community. Luckily there is another news community that will become more popular than theirs and the good discussions will move to a group of admins that is willing to expand and do what it takes to grow lemmy.
I'd disagree, it doesn't really affect any given instance to not be consolidated as long as the federations remain because we can subscribe to them and they can subscribe to us. If anything, consolidation hurts more because of unrelated defederation.
7 with 1 because they can all participate with each other.
thanks for using Leebra!
