2 years ago by Nemeski to c/unity

After deep consultation with our community, customers, and partners, we’ve made the decision to cancel the Runtime Fee, effective immediately.

The damage to their brand and to the trust of developers is done. It’s not like anyone will forget what they attempted to do.

I know it's not Matt's fault and that he took over from the last guy.

However, it's true incompetence as to how this happened in the first place. CEOs are so overpaid and to fuck up that much and still walk away with like 45 million or something, it's staggering.

CEOs are just a scapegoat for the Board, especially at companies this large. That's why their pay is structured the way it is.

If ever you see only a CEO replaced, it's indicative of a Board trying to ride out the storm until they can try to implement the same thing again.

Man, they could make me the scapegoat for like $500,000. Such a savings.
