We're Recommended

Right now, we're the number one recommended instance to join on the join-lemmy.org site, and we are also one of 3 recommended instances in the awesome-lemmy-instances page. We may be small, but so far we're doing great!

I appreciate you leaving downvotes enabled! I think they are a big part of what set Reddit apart from other social media.

That's how I ended up here. I thought beehaw had a cool name but I didn't feel like typing an "I'm not an asshole" essay. I look forward to seeing the place grow.

To be fair, don't we have an "I'm not a bot" essay?

Edit: Though to be clear, I also look forward to seeing this place grow and I'm glad that we're still federated with all of the major instances.

Do we? My memory doesn't go that far back these days lmao. In any event, the essay here must have seemed much easier to write than the prompt over there.

Yeah its basically an I'm not a bot essay, here is the prompt:

This is the default prompt and I decided to keep it. I thought it was sufficient, and i dont like the idea of assuming everyone could be an asshole. If they are you'll find out soon enough and then you can remove them if appropriate.

Keep in mind that im 100% open to change if people what it. It is a community after all. We sould all be involved in the decisions and processes.

Writing two sentences about reddit ceo being a dick head wasn't so hard personally :).
