IMO this is a really smart thing to do. It's trivial to get an account on another instance, so users that really are looking for that content* aren't truly inconvenienced. And for the rest of us that would prefer our home instance to stay safe and stick around this is a good move. Basically I commend Dataterm for making this decision for all its users.
*Talking about NSFW, not loli/shota etc
And that is why the way lemmy shares content between instances needs a serious rewrite. It's a huge issue that one could break laws, simply because they allow an account created with their instance to visit other instances. On the other hand, it's a serious design flaw that the only recourse instance admins have is to block other instances entirely.
