State Senators from Ann Arbor pushing to allow municipalities to regulate single-use plastic bags

2 years ago by lengau to c/annarbor

Two Ann Arbor lawmakers are behind a state Senate bill that would repeal the law that bans municipalities from regulating single-use plastic bags. WEMU’s Kevin Meerschaert reports.

The original title was "State Senators from Ann Arbor pushing for repeal on ban of single-use plastic regulations" but that sounded confusing to me.

This change, if implemented, would allow Ann Arbor to do things like require that stores charge for plastic bags.
