Just remember, if its free, you are the product.

Ive been loving Freshrss on a small pi. Costs 5$ per year to host on my own.

If you dont want to host a server, running off a client is very easy. thunderbird has options for it. And there are other clients that exist like: http://www.rssowl.org/

I'm personally quite fond of FreshRSS. it can be self-hosted, but there's a bunch of providers that offer free or pay-what-you-want hosting.

that being said, the last time I used it a few years ago, Inoreader was very decent if you wanted a very straightforward setup that didn't require tinkering.

I'm unfamiliar with Fresh RSS but I signed up with cheredeprince and have already added a feed, reading it on my PC.

Not sure how to use it on my phone yet.

This was a nice discovery. Itโ€™s an excellent substitute for Google News, and in my opinion, even better.

Before I started to self-host FreshRSS, I used Inoreader, and can highly recommend them.

I was really happy a few weeks ago when I went through all my software and noticed that Inoreader was from the EU. Great modern RSS reader.
