Same. Seattle had multiple subs that were active, mostly r/Seattle and r/SeattleWA. The latter unfortunately became garbage over the years as it was overwhelmed by alt right trolls who have never lived in the area, but the former was still pretty good and very active (even if it did always have way too many pictures of the space needle).

Same with the Ottawa sub. I've just been following the Ottawa subreddit by RSS which mostly does the trick
