In Winter, Summer. In Summer, Winter.
In Winter, Summer. In Summer, Winter.
Winter. By far. No bugs to fly in my face and scare me. No sweat to make me mad. No yard work. And everything seems much quieter. Oh, I can't wait.
Edit: I forgot! The jackets and blankets hug me! I like to snuggle in but in the summer it's impossible. Although I do like to garden...
Heat can be difficult, but cold hurts.
Sun can burn, but darkness drains me like a vampire.
Everything that brings me joy is accessible in the summer. Lush green forest trails, aromatic gardens, colours everywhere, rivers, cycling, kayaking, hiking, vitamin D in my eyeballs. Summer is life.
I enjoy winter about 6 days of the year. Perfect rare days that are not too cold, not grim or dirty or dark or icy, with big fluffy snowflakes and blankets of white coating the evergreens. The rest of winter can fully go to hell.
This. The way I keep cool on very hot summerdays is by reminding myself "at least it isn't winter".
As someone that lives in Florida, I prefer those few days in Sept/Oct when the weather gets much colder (like 60s-70s) than normal summer temps. It gives me an odd calm feeling of change that I like. I open all the windows and get excited for the change in weather. Unfortunately, those don't last much and the weather goes right back to being super summer. I think last year, it was still hot af in December.
However, the thing I like about summer here is the strong thunderstorms. We get weather alerts like 5/7 days per week of severe thunderstorms. I freaking LOVE thunderstorms. They're so cozy. Me and my dog cuddle during them, while the cat looks at us and slow blinks as if he were telling us he's on watch and everything is okay. ❤️
yep. the seasons here are better described by rainy season and dry season. In the summer, we get torrential downpour thunderstorms nearly every afternoon. In the winter, it may rain a little between 2-4 times per month, followed by a ~3 days of cold weather. I imagine that your Winters are just cold everyday, right?
Winter. I like my spaces very cold.
Winter >>> Summer.
I literally hate summer heat. I live in Texas and have a farm and a band and therefore can't really avoid being out in the heat. The things I have to do to deal with sweating and heat sickness are kind of extreme. I have cooling towels, sweat wicking clothes and scarves, Ice buckets, coolers and fans, and I still feel like I'm dying the second I step out of my truck on the farm. The band plays almost exclusively outdoors in the summer and I hate that too. I'm soaking wet by the time we set up the stage, I don't really get enough time to reset my body temperature before we have to play, I sometimes start feeling sick on stage so I can't drink a beer or two to get in the mood, I'm exhausted when the show is over, everyone wants to crowd you and shake your hand and hug you when you get off stage and I am usually dry heaving into a towel by that point... yeah summer sucks so much ass.
Summer is when I can get out and exercise more easily, but I'd still have to pick winter because it's just more comfortable. Easier to warm up than cool down.
Winter is superior in my opinion. It's way too hot and buggy for my liking and makes me want to stay inside all the time. And winter has beautiful snowfall.
Just between the two, I prefer winter. The cold and the darkness are nice, but I miss the green of nature and the animal sounds. Spring is the best season for me because it feels like having the benefits of both summer and winter. :)
I used to prefer winter, for the same reasons you describe. Cold is easily escaped through layering.
But now I drive a truck for a living, and winter is stressful. I have to put a lot more work into my trip planning, tracking weather to avoid driving into a storm (which could kill me if I miss it or at least force me to chain up if I fail to stop before getting into a snowy pass).
I think I still like winter a bit more, but it's not as easy a pick as before.
Summer, except for hot middays. I like everything about it.
Where I live winter means too little light, lots of snow and lots of dirt, it's too bothersome to go outside, venting the space is not as easy.
thanks for using Leebra!

My favorite season is fall. But since you limited the question to summer and winter, I say winter. It's easier to warm up then to cool down.
