Have you noticed that you keep losing socks, but you have more coathangers than you can use?

Socks are the larval form of coathangers. When you put them in the dryer they incubate. After enough dryer visits, they pupate into coathangers and fly off to your closets. Only the most recent have not moulted their paper wings covers yet.
