Hey everyone, i'm new to the fediverse, i have rescently posted several images of an art piece in one post from mastodon to art share on lemmy, but i just noticed that i can't add a lemmy title to click on, and only the first image (of five) is showing on lemmy (and that's a bummer for me, i was sharing pictures of details of the piece) !
I suspect it might be because the "conversion" from one instance to another that's not from the same social media shows incompatibility of some sort, but if by chance anybody has any ideas on how it works, it would be greatly appreciated 🤗

The first line of your post becomes the title. Tag the community at the end, not the beginning

As the other user already mentioned, the first line in your post is the lemmy title. Tag the community at the end instead of the beginning of the post.

Also, how did you post the art pieces on mastodon? I tried opening the link on the original instance that posted it, but I'm getting an error, do you have a picture of the post?

I see. Looks like mastodon handles the pictures like an image gallery/carousel. Maybe this is a problem with the ActivityPub protocol, perhaps the mastodon and lemmy team can talk to figure how to better integrate the federation on this point (assuming it's possible)

I think you can try opening an issue on github https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues about lemmy posts not displaying every picture you posted on mastodon.

I don't know if they'll be able to solve it alone, I believe they'll need to talk to someone responsible for mastodon for a collaboration perhaps.
