The cover features a crop of Malcolm Browne's famous photograph of the self-immolation of Thích Quảng Đức, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, in Saigon in 1963.

This is both horrible and impressive.

After approximately 10 minutes, Quảng Đức's body was fully immolated and it eventually toppled backwards onto its back. Once the fire subsided, a group of monks covered the smoking corpse with yellow robes, picked it up and tried to fit it into a coffin, but the limbs could not be straightened and one of the arms protruded from the wooden box as he was carried to the nearby Xá Lợi Pagoda in central Saigon.

Community Description – Album Artwork Heaven

It is an community about album covers so the music itself isn't necessarly good music

Welcome to Album Artwork Heaven — a cozy corner of Lemmy dedicated to celebrating the visual side of music! 🎶🖼️
This community is all about sharing, discovering, and appreciating album covers, music-related artwork, and the creative design that brings sound to life through imagery. Whether it’s vintage vinyl sleeves, modern digital art, obscure indie releases, or iconic classics — if it’s beautiful, striking, or just plain weird, it belongs here.

Very Loose Rules:

  1. Keep it music-related – Posts should feature album art, cover art, or artwork directly tied to a musical release (EPs, singles, mixtapes, etc. count too!).
  2. Be respectful – No hate speech, harassment, or spam. Critique art, not people.
  3. Credit when possible – If you know the artist, designer, or band, please mention them! (But don’t worry if you’re not sure.)
  4. No NSFW without tagging – If an album cover contains nudity please mark it as NSFW.
  5. Have fun and share generously! – This is a low-pressure zone for art and music lovers. Re-posts are fine, obscure gems are encouraged, and enthusiasm is always welcome.

Come for the covers, stay for the sonic stories behind them. 🎧✨
