"Alright people, here's how you train your brain to be devoid of creativity and effort"
That's sad. I hope the library takes the criticism to heart.
Also, what's this publication? It's unfortunate that I've become skeptical of new news outlets in case they are astroturfed conservative mouth pieces. Anyone know if this one is actually independent?
LiveWire Calgary has been around a few years now, they're a smaller independent local news outlet from what I can tell.
They're pretty good from what I've read from them. They also have an account on Mastodon that's pretty active.
If you want another local independent outlet, there's also The Sprawl.
Awesome, thanks! I'm happy to see some truly independent news in Alberta. I hope they're successful.
If you want another outlet, The Tyee is based in British Columbia and mainly focusses on BC news, but they do touch on Alberta news a fair amount to the extent that I believe they have a dedicated newsletter for it.
Like LiveWire they also have an official Mastodon account.
The Tyee is pretty good, yeah. Also don't forget The Beaverton!

Good, I saw them calling for this and was really disappointed in the library. It's an insult to the entire arts community in Calgary.
I question why they are doing this. I wonder if there is a AI firm backing the project and part of them holding this is some sort of good will generator for AI.
Like, how many AI books does the library have if it's such an acceptable practice?
