A lot of people want this deal to go through so they get CoD and Diablo. While that is an enticing proposition but am not fond of Microsoft just gobbling up large studios just because their first party games aren't up to snuff.

The least controversial opinion here is big companies need to stop with acquisitions.

I believe I hold the 2nd least controversial opinion of, mergers suck and all but I really want to like ABK games again, and I sure don't see them fixing shit on their own. I think their games and company would improve under Microsoft.

..but at this point? Fucking end this charade. It's obvious too many forces are against it, no matter how much I wanted it to work out.

It does feel a little like there will be only three mega corporations left that develop games, at this rate. A monopoly is never good.

I don't get the optimism that MS will make ABK better. Is there any games company that become better after acquired by MS?

Rare for example didn't do anything for 2 decades. Although Mojang arguably maintain their quality, the other first party studio seems declining after acquisition.

At this point, I've already played for Diablo and I don't play anything else Acti-Blizz so I kind of wish they would give up and try and get someone more interesting like Sega.
