Input cover upgrade, what looks would you choose?

4 months ago by WFH to c/framework

For those who would only want/need to upgrade their Framework 13 Classic input cover to the Pro one for the haptic trackpad, what looks would you choose?

  • Silver for a stealth upgrade, monochrome all the way
  • graphite for that classic XPS13 look, silver on the outside, black on the inside
  • Fuck it I'm doing a full external upgrade, matte black everything

Probably I'll wait another year or so, but I think I'm likely to stick with silver. I've been rocking raw aluminum slabs since I got my first laptop way back in 2010 or so, a secondhand MacBook pro, and haven't deviated. Honestly the raw aluminum was a selling point of the framework, though not as much of one as, you know, the whole repairability/upgradability stuff.

Im going to do the silver bottom kit and buy a CNC top cover. Prob the next pro upgrade cycle I’ll grab a board and screen cuz I'm pretty happy with my AMD still. 20hr battery life would be sick but its not that much of a game changer for me atm

Black with silver could look great.
