Whenever I see foxes I'm always cautious that their mannerisms and facial features aren't necessarily related to those we recognise in cats and dogs. For all I know, that happy face means "I want to kill you"

I'm at peace with foxes. Years ago, on a crisp but sunny March morning I was reading on the south-facing steps of my house and a fox quietly sat about 5 feet away. Weeks later, she fed her pups on those warm steps.
