Warioware & Warioware Twisted are really fun and creative. The party one on Gamecube is especially fun if you have friends.

Well, it's easy for me: The only Non-Pokemon and Non-Mario-Gameboy game I played was Tetris DX, and I quite liked it.

Advance Wars. Peak tactical strategy game for my adolescent brain. Still gives me a challenge in my 30s. It's a timeless game that even a remake couldn't improve on. If you can find a physical copy of 1 and 2 for a reasonable price, hop on it NOW.

Advance Wars and the Fire Emblem games helped me pass the time when I was in hospital. All of them are just great I recommend playing them if you haven't already.

if we're including the advance, then the sonic advance games and golden sun are great.

Does Donkey Kong '94 count as "not Mario"? It's one of the best puzzle platformers I've ever played to date, and I still go back to it to this day.

For me it would have been any of the metroid games, especially fusion on the advance and the final fantasy saga series. I played them like crazy.

I have to admit my age here, but the OG Tetris on the OG Gameboy was king.

To tack on to my original comment, I would say that Bookworm and Puzzle Quest were good go-anywhere games. They were definitely recreated in the modern world as phone games.
