In a post titled "Trump is symbolic of the rot of the US government", they were calling the concept of "harm reduction" (as in, voting for the person who's not literally Hitler) "bullshit that liberals tell themselves because they know that what they support is evil", because they're a sane, mature human who is not at all stupid as hell.

They didn't really like it when I pushed back on that narrative by pointing out that far more people have been harmed in the first 2 years of a Trump presidency than would have been over 8 years of a Harris presidency. Que sera, sera.

I'm not actually sure how to screenshot that. When I go to that page, it just shows "removed by mod" on the posts that I made, and the screenshot that I posted above is the only thing I can see in the modlog (unless I'm just using the modlog incorrectly, which is 100% a possibility). Also, when I go to my profile, my past posts in that thread also show "removed by mod".

Is there some way that you know of that I can see the original messages?

When I judge based on only what you write here, you have full control of the narrative and you can ommit things if you think it helps your case.

Screenshots would actually make it harder for you to do those things.

So me coming to a judgement just based on this is your best scenario, as I am taking your word for what happened. It would be only your own fault if you mispresented the situation.

I agree with you to an extent, it's hard to see how she could have been worse than Trump, who is literally deranged.

On the other hand, Harris will 100% be lining up to support a bailout for "too big too fail" AI companies when the bubble bursts, like all the rest of the "centrist" Dems. She'd also have kept supplying Israel no matter what they did, same as Biden, same as Trump, same as all the other Zionists. Would she have started a war with Iran? Probably not. But she might well have started a war with Russia or China to prove how "tough" she is - and that possibility has surely got to be in the double digits? The war machine must be fed, after all. I do agree she'd have perhaps been a little better on climate change policy and on social policy, at least wrt identity politics issues.

In any case, the policy of this community is to not shame people for being anti-electoralist. If someone wants to vote, go ahead. I also vote - because imo I might as well, it's a low effort action. I just don't expect it to lead to any big changes. But we don't shame those who don't want to vote, for whatever reason. If a political party genuinely wants to expand their voter base they are gonna have to make some meaningful policy changes, instead of just pointing a loaded gun at the electorate (aka Donald Trump) and declaring themselves to be somewhat less terrible on certain issues.

This is just a bad way to have food faith discussions. There is no way to disprove something that is based on wishful thinking about how it could have gone. Of course one could write lengthy analysis of harm under Biden Harris, compare it with harm under Trump, extrapolate what could have happened under Harris, but in the end one would still have to believe the interpretation that one gets presented.

It's not "wishful thinking" to suggest that Harris would have behaved like pretty much every Democrat before her for the past 40 years. I will grant you that she could have had a stroke and Fetterman'd out, but I think you're seriously downplaying the sheer amount of destruction that Trump has caused. It would be extremely difficult for a James Bond-type supervillain to purposely do all the damage Trump has done on accident. Just use simple common sense, here, is all I'm asking.

Thats a pretty one dimensional metric for suffering, I can do the same.

Trumps goverment deported 600000 till now

Biden and Harris deported 270000 in 2024

So if we want to compare 2 (actually 1,5) current years of Trump with 8 years of Harris, who was on track to continue Bidens path, we could see more than 2 million deportations in that time frame.

They only deleted my comment after I reported the clear uncivil namecalling by mystic mushroom. Unruffled had seen and downvoted it much earlier, and I didn't make any edits. Calling it "trolling" with no justification for it, and leaving the actual rule-breaking comment up.

Surely you have receipts for this then.

You can check the modlog for when they banned me for "report spam" (whatever that's supposed to mean), and actively blocked me when I asked them to explain what that means:
