I asked what monster truck I should drive for the mile to work in a bicycle community, somehow they all hated me?!
What if the vegan community's first phrase in their sidebar was "A place for all those who loathe eating meat to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the meat hype"?
Because have you read the Fuck AI sidebar?
It seems you're mad at the tennis club for not wanting to play golf with you.
Kinda unsurprising to see extremist stances on AI in a community called "Fuck AI".
Things are weird, I didn’t see things like that even on Reddit
Also unsurprising, Reddit uses all kinds of AI, bots, algorithms and general anti-user behavior, someone who is still there despite all that is unlikely to be very critical of AI.
There are two separate issues here, and as usual, two wrongs don’t make right.
Edit: to speak to the actual topic: I think LLMs and other AI tools are extremely powerful productivity aids that already transformed how practically any type of knowledge work is done, from software to healthcare to writing to research. But it is being deployed at scale in a way that seems to be ruining the internet experience, many previously useful software, and the everyday lives of many people, and this is just after 3 years. It seems to be impossible to opt out from the transformation that is happening, and it’s hard not to be disappointed in the new world that’s taking shape right now.
Edit 2: if you didn’t see such things on Reddit, travel back in time to mid 2025, open the cybertruck sub, and ask if they think the _____ feature is cool. Let me know how it goes.
thanks for using Leebra!
