Records from the IJF’s Open By Default database reveal the government made over a dozen amendments to a contract with Palantir Canada to provide services to an elite unit of the military

Conservative MP, say that Canadian Special Operations Forces Command determined “that Palantir was the only supplier that could meet the key requirement” of the contract.

"At this time of the contract, there were few companies worldwide that had developed this type of software technology," Sadiku said in his statement.

Sounds very similar to what happened here in Germany.

CDU-led Ministry of the Interior. And agrees with the FDP: "To our knowledge, no comparable European software, which is ready to function in a timely manner, is available so far."

Setting up the contract before any alternative had even the chance to rival the now dominant market position of palantir and therefore creating another tech monopoly. New safer challengers wont be able to compete with security and privacy concerns now thrown out the window as palantir now sets the functionality bar... Why do politicians refuse to learn? If you don't own the infrastructure, you will be extorted later. UGH.

They don't learn because they don't have to.

But if nobody extorts me how will I solicit personal bribes?
