Ford patents autonomous vehicle repossession

What "essential" system could require a connection?
I know someone that removed the comms on their newer lexus, it knocked out the whole screen, radio and HVAC but only after a few weeks later. The touchscreen displayed something like it "could not authenticate to validate subscription" with no way to move past it. Had to take it to a dealership and get the telemetry reconnected and reprogrammed to get functioning again.
That's not essential. That's asshole design.
just cover the fin with aluminum foil sealing tape from any hardware store.
I hate this corny phrase. There is no such thing as ownership. It's just the state enforcing the arbitrary claims of the privileged with violence.
This slogan is just promoting the capitalism that's causing the problem.
I hate this corny phrase. There is no such thing as violence. It's just the manipulation of objects that causes the molecules in an area to be disturbed in one particular way.
I mean I don't like the slogan either because it's mostly used by right libertarians, who are the least serious political alignment.
People gonna start booting their own vehicles.
Man, Ford really doesn't want to sell any more cars, do they? I say let them have their "patent", and ensure that only Ford can do this kind of shit to their customers.
And that is why bipartisan politics represent two sides of the same coin
😂😂😂😂😂 if that was your take from this meme, then that is why America is truly fucked!

The phenomenon of online platforms gradually degrading the quality of their services, often by promoting advertisements and sponsored content, in order to increase profits. (Cory Doctorow, 2022, extracted from Wikitionary) source
We discuss how predatory big tech platforms live and die by luring people in and then decaying for profit.
We also discuss how naturally open technologies like the Fediverse can be susceptible to corporate takeovers, rugpulls and subsequent enshittification.

Remember, some cars have essential systems looped through the 5g antenna. Check whether your car is one of them before clipping it with a pair of wire cutters, costing only $3.
