It wasn't poll numbers that made the DNC pick Hillary. It was her pro-corporate, anti-worker, pro-Israel policies. Nobody gets on the ballot without those.

Being a former cabinet member to a president who previously polled well seems to be a popular quality to them as well. But you know, they think we're fucking stupid.

Yeah we really should be anti electability, because the arguments include sexism and racism.

The other issue with electability argument is that it's too meta and circular. Candidate A can have a popular policy X that everyone wants, and candidate B can have policy Y that most people hate, but instead of picking a policy we want and everyone wants we ignore that and just say "this trait is electable because I say other people think it's electable trait".

I rather people pick policies that candidates present instead of "I think this guy in the general will win"

Just yesterday I saw a quite from an establishment Dem, saying the Republicans love the DSA candate because they think she'll be easy to beat in the general.

My first thought was But the Republicans are so wrong so often, that would make her the best bet.

The thing is, and we've seen this in 2020 and in the recent LA and NYC mayoral, and cali gubernatorial elections, is that black dem voters prefer the establishment option over the progressive one.

Any progressive movement needs to do a lot better job of outreach than they've been doing for the last 10 years.

They're trying to run the Clyburn/Biden playbook in Michigan and losing badly.
