Company Offering Printed Books to Train AI Stops After 404 Media Coverage

Citing backlash, ISBNdb removed its webpages about training AI, denied ever buying, scanning, or selling a book for AI training, and said the site was a "test of market interest."

What the hell would the market for this even be? Anna's Archive has a torrent where you can download the whole freakin' library.

IIRC they're buying older books that may not have been digitized. The way they scan them destroys the book (I'm guessing the binding is removed so each page is loose/can lie flat).
