Google Bends the Knee on Lake Ontario Name
2 months ago by Rat_in_a_hat to c/onguardforthee
I'm using it here in the UK and it still says "Ontario":

I mean, I think my bigger problem with this is like, that's not even the right lake to be the "America" lake since it's part of the Great Lakes, three of which are bigger. Doesn't even make sense for this to be like, the lake. I get it's to fuck with the whole booze thing in Ontario but also like, Doug Ford is a rabid piece of shit and "Ontario" is a colonizer name anyway, so I don't care much about that. I'd rather we just start calling it something more respectful either way.
Edit: lmao, you guys are such fucking colonizers. Have fun with Lake America.
I believe Ontario is an indigenous name though
Oh yeah, definitely anglicized.
I'm not sure if that's meant to allude to something. And I see someone's down voting, is there something I'm not privy to, or is this just typical Canadian pissyness at having the colonialism pointed out?
