I made a Music community a few months ago for my instance, because it doesn't have one. Unsurprisingly, it hasn't gotten much attention. I don't really promote it, just figured it would come up in search. A few people have popped in though. Obviously the comm of the same name on .world is going to be everyone's first choice (and, I'm subbed there as well, because I do love music), I just wanted an alternative on the free-speech instance. No one's de-federating .world because they're the big one, but anyone who says they don't like .world now has an alternative.
I dunno, I never wanted to be a moderator, I just wanted a place to post music I couldn't get kicked out from because of political BS. I've been banned from pro-AI and anti-AI comms for voicing opinions for and against in different contexts. People can be sensitive, and I never wanted to be someone who said "you can't access this because I disagree with you." Then again, if I got a lot more users, I might have to moderate, so, I'm not sure how to navigate that. Allow someone else to moderate and just use the comm? That's kind of just passing the buck, doesn't really stop the issue of "power-trippin' bastards" (comm on my home instance for bitching about mod abuse). I don't really take it personally when I'm banned from a comm, but I don't desire to be on the other side.
